One of the (many) good ideas put forth on the build forums is to understand what the goal of the build is in terms of roadster ‘look', intended use, budget target and so on, and to keep these as a guide for making decisions. ‘Mission creep’ is way too easy when considering all of the innovative mods done on the roadsters as discussed in the builders’ forums.
As for the look, my general guide is CSX 3032, a 427 built for racing. The roadster is Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White stripes. There is no chrome but black paint or powder coating; it has a competition windscreen. I like the darker color of the wheels.
The roadster I’m building will be mostly for street use but we’d also like to autocross it (my wife is really eager to take that on). I’ll put in a windshield that is removable and have fastening points for a racing screen.
