More rear end work

The 3-link is now nearly installed.  I’ve been alternating between attaching the caliper hanger brackets and getting the 3-link installed.  At this point, the only additional attachment is the Panhard bar but that should be relatively straight-forward.  This photo is kind of busy but the construction step page and photo album show more details.

The caliper hanger brackets were bare metal so I coated them with POR-15.  POR-15 is incredibly tough when dried and looks like powder coating.  One option for the frame was to get it in bare metal and coat it with POR-15.  I’m really glad that I got it powder coated.  Doing the entire chassis with POR-15 would have been a nightmare!

A puzzle has been how to torque the nuts on some of the bolts in the above photo when there isn’t enough room for the socket on my torque wrench to fit between the flange and bolt head.  As I’m always learning things I found out that a ‘crowfoot’ wrench will fit on my torque drive and, because it’s relatively slim, will fit between the flange and bolt head.  The caliper hanger attaches via bolts to the bracket at the point with the two holes.
