Upper control arms / LCA spacing

Fitting the LCAs into the frame ears was (and is) not quite straightforward.  The front ear spacing on the DS and PS are 1/8 in. different with the DS exactly the same width as the LCA attachment site.  The PS side has about 1/8” of play.  So I positioned the rear bushing sleeve so that the PS front LCA attachment sleeve is forward against the frame ear leaving a space for a washer to the rear of the attachment sleeve.  The space is slightly less than 1/8” so the F5 washers are too thick.  I tried grinding one down but it was a lot of effort for little result so I ordered some washers, ~ 1/16” thick, from McMaster-Carr.

I started working on the UCAs but was immediately puzzled by the orientation of the ball joint plate: it looked to be upside down as assembled by F5.  I searched around the F5 forum to get some good photos of the ‘correct’ assembly and then disassembled the UCA and rotated the ball joint plate to the correct orientation.

The first photo shows the incorrect configuration; the second is correct.  Note, particularly, the angle of the ball joint threading.
